Wedding Week Pics

We celebrated my sister's wedding last month and the week leading up to the big day was SO FUN! It was family, friends, tons of food, sharing old stories, and lots of wedding prep. I think we all got along quite beautifully in the process, so yay for us! Here are a few pics of our time together.
We kicked it off with Sara's Bachelorette party, good friends, good food, and good stories were told. Way fun. Here is the bride to be.

Here are my kids' adopted Swedish grandparents Bengt and Lillemor. Payton and I got to visit Sara and Christian over in Sweden two years ago and stayed with his parents in their summer home. Payton bonded with both of them and especially with Lillemor. They arrived in Santa Cruz bearing gifts of Swedish candy. The kids were smitten and swore lifelong loyalty on the spot. We spent the day walking on West Cliff and eating Marianne's ice cream. Bengt is HILARIOUS and could hold his own quite well with my dad who is also a comedian.

My new bro!

Bengt and Lillemor prepared us a Swedish Midsummer dinner for us one night at my parents. It was so fun and very exotic for us American folk, especially for my dear husband. Notice Vicki's cute boy Roger...

We had four kinds of pickled herring, pickled salmon, smoked salmon, and eel! I tried them all, and I learned that anything mixed with lots of sour cream, fresh onion, and a bite of potato can taste quite good.

Trav was a champ and ate like a true Swede. He looks so brave here.

Sara used protea flowers for her wedding bouquets and they were beautiful!

Sara and her maid of honor Laura.

The miracle workers. Our family friend Nancy and my mum. Nancy MADE this wedding happen. She was a saint pulling us all together and making it fun at the same time. I took a few wedding coordinator lessons from her.

My dad and his girls at the rehearsal picnic.

Davey lookin' fly.

My mum and sisters and me.

Roger, it's official, we love you.

My king of temper tantrums. Davey was sad that the balloons kept bothering him on the ride home.

Sara getting beautified the morning of the wedding.

This is the only shot I have really of us at the wedding! My camera got tossed aside for the rest of the evening. It's all up in my head though, every minute of the night. It was perfect. Love you Sara and miss you already!

Fun pictures Annie. It was a fun time with all of you girls home as well as the grands and the newest members of the family.

It sure is quiet here!
