This woman has become quite endeared to me these last few months. It all started when I read "Julie and Julia" by Julie Powell for my book club. I DON'T recommend it. Julie Powell's got the mouth of a sailor and unbelievably sad morals and beliefs on marriage and friendship. BUT, I loved everything I learned about Julia Child. She was a spunky, strong woman with an iron will who learned to cook when she was 37. Can you believe how old she was? I am 37, and I also would like to learn how to cook more than my potato soup and lasagna that never fail me.
Julia gives me hope, and I'm going to add her book, "My life in France" to my summer reading list. Maybe some of her pluck will rub off on me.
